Industrial Park

An important element of the Springerville Municipal Airport Development Plan was the examination of opportunities for compatible commercial and industrial  development on airport property.  Future business development at the airport can take advantage of the proximity to the various airside and landside facilities, as well as access to the regional highway system.  In return, these businesses would benefit the airport by helping  it become more self-sustaining, and less reliant on public funding.  The Airport Development Plan provides opportunities for both aviation related industries, requiring direct airport access, and non-aviation related industries.  The anticipated variety of business and aviation activity at the airport will make Springerville Municipal Airport the focal point of the region.

Aviation Related Business Opportunities

The Master Plan for the Springerville Municipal Airport has set aside several areas for lease to private or public enterprise.  Shown in purple on the new Airport Layout Plan, many of these land lease spaces, due to their proximity to the airport runways and facilities will naturally be ideal for airport related businesses, such as:
▪  Airplane and parts manufacturing
▪  Airplane maintenance and servicing
▪  Air freight and cargo facilities
▪  Private and public charter services
▪  Private hangers

Non-Aviation Related Business Opportunities

Also included in the Master Plan are lease areas not directly adjacent to the airport taxi-ways or runways.  These lease spaces, shown in green on the new Airport Layout Plan, will be attractive to non-aviation businesses because of their close proximity to a main transportation hub as well as access to inexpensive city utilities like water and sewer, phone and electricity.  Some such business include:

▪  Office Park
▪  Research Park
▪  Light Industrial
▪  Light Commercial
▪  Warehouse and Storage
